Rapid Chloride Test (RCT)

The Rapid Chloride Test, RCT provides a reliable and fast method of determining the acid soluble amount of chlorides of haedened or dard laboratory titration.

Pulverized concrete obtained by hammer drilling of hardened concrete or a sample taken from the fresh concrete is mixed with a chloride extraction liquid and shaken for 5 minutes. the amount of acid soluble chlorides - expressed as weight percent of concrete weight - is determined directly by means of a calibrated chloride sensitive electrode connected to the RCT-electrometer.

The test is easy to perform and requires only the RCT kit entirely contained in one portable suitcase together with vials for extraction.

The RCT may without difficulties be performed in-situ giving immidiately and reliable information of the chloride content in critical parts of the structure or before casting takes place.

Benefits

  • Easy to perform.
  • Result giving immediately.
  • Contained in one portable suitcase.
  • Non-Destructive Test (NDT).
